Whoopie pie is not a cookie or a typical cake and it is definitely not a pie. It is actually somewhere in between a cupcake and an ice cream sandwich. A filling is sandwich between two cake sandwich.Whoopie pie originated from the US in the 1920s. Typically whoopie pies are made in 10cm round. The original whoopie pie combines chocolate cake with a marshmellow filling. However nowadays there are alot of other variation to the classic whoopie pie.
